Rick Orloff
Rick has more then 20 years of industry security experience in Silicon Valley and is currently the Chief Security Officer at Code42, a world-class cloud based real-time recovery solution for endpoint devices. Prior to joining Code42, he was the Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at eBay where he designed, delivered and operationalized security programs supporting a global e-commerce business with over 157 million customers. In addition, he built a global threat management capability tracking emerging external threats, and delivered a multifaceted program identifying real time internal cyber and network threats with anomaly detection.
Prior to eBay, Rick spent seven years at Apple Inc. (APPL) leading and building a variety of global security programs to protect Apple’s sensitive data and critical initiatives as Senior Director, Information Security and Special Projects. In this capacity, he designed critical security programs protecting more than 500 million customer records and billions of transaction records. He also developed a security framework for the supply chain, was responsible for strategy and execution relative to securing prototype devices, and was responsible for all Physical Security Technology programs worldwide.
Rick’s executive leadership roles also included serving as Director of Global Security at Lam Research (LRCX), a leading manufacturer of wafer fabrication equipment in the semiconductor industry. He is a member of several Advisory Boards such as Raytheon Cyber Products, Oracle, Box Inc, and others.
Rick’s experience includes Global Threat Management, cyber intelligence programs, and geospatial correlation of data, as well as building Security Operations Centers delivering meaningful and actionable results. He is often quoted in national stories in key publications including Wall Street Journal, Reuters, Associated Press, TechTarget, SC Magazine, Tech News World, Computer Business Review, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN.
